Disovex ear drops is a combination of Paradichlorobenzene, Benzocaine, Chlorbutol and Turpentine oil which belongs to the group of medicines called Otic agents. It is commonly used to treat ear infections, inflammation, and excessive earwax.

Each ml contains:
- Paradichlorobenzene 2% w/v
- Benzocaine I.P. 2.7% w/v
- Chlorbutol I.P. 5.0% w/v
- Turpentine Oil B.P. 15% v/v
- Oily Excipients q.s.
Mechanism of Action
Paradichlorobenzene is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon that helps remove ear wax. Benzocaine is a local anaesthetic that helps to numb the pain and itching.
Indications
This medication is used to relieve pain and itching from certain ear conditions e.g. middle ear inflammation with congestion and/or fluid build-up, swimmers ear, outer ear inflammation.
Dosage
As directed by the physician.
Directions
Use the solution within one month after opening the container. Do not use it if the solution contains particles/suspended matter.
Side Effects
A very serious allergic reaction to this drug is rare. However, seek immediate medical attention if you notice any symptoms of a serious allergic reaction: rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), severe dizziness, trouble breathing.
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to any components of this product.

Warning
Before using this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: hearing problems, intestinal problems, kidney problems, myasthenia gravis, Parkinson's disease.
