Primotor N tablet contains the progestogen analog called norethisterone which belongs to a class of medicines called ‘Progestogens’ and is useful in treatment of heavy, painful, irregular periods, postponement of menstruation, premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and endometriosis. Progestogens are similar to the natural female hormone progesterone.

Mechanism of Action:
Primotor N tablet contains Norethisterone, which works by mimicking the activity of the natural hormone progesterone. Thereby, it restores hormone levels in the body and regulates the growth and shedding of the womb lining. Thus, it helps to treat menstrual disorders.
Indications:
Primotor N is used in the treatment of Heavy, painful, or irregular periods, Premenstrual syndrome (PMS), postponement of menstruation, & Endometriosis.
Dosage:
As directed by the physician.
Storage:
Store at temperature not exceeding 250 Protect from sunlight, heat and moisture.
Side effects:
Unusual vaginal bleeding or spotting, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, nausea, diarrhea, headache, breast pain, and tenderness.
Contraindications:
Primotor N is contraindicated in Patients with known or suspected hypersensitivity to the drug or any of the excipients, during pregnancy and lactation, in patients with severe hepatic failure or renal or cardiac impairment, or Epilepsy, Migraine headaches, asthma, or Venous Thromboembolism.
Drug Interactions:
Primotor N can cause drug interactions with the following drugs: Carbamazepine, Boceprevir, Phenytoin, Nelfinavir, Ritonavir, Aminoglutethimide, Cotrimoxazole, Rifampicin, Tetracycline, Ciclosporin.
