Ornigyl-O Tablets

Ornidazole is a nitroimidazole, an antibacterial and antiprotozoal drug used to treat anaerobic enteric protozoa. Ofloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic used for treating certain kinds of bacterial infections.

Ornidazole's action occurs as a nitro group is reduced to amines that interact with DNA to cause destruction of the helical DNA structure and strand, leading to inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death in susceptible organisms. Ofloxacin stops the production of bacteria by inhibiting the repair and reproduction of their genetic material (DNA).

Diarrhoea or dysentery due to bacteria, protozoa, or mixed-origin infection in pelvic inflammatory diseases.

Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to this product or any of its ingredients.

Strong metallic taste in the mouth, increased light sensitivity, gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, vomiting.

Not recommended for children under 1 year of age. Must be used with caution in those with known or suspected central nervous system (CNS) disorders.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 30°C.
